Deletion at a glance

  • Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account.
  • A confirmed request stops your active walks and live sharing and revokes your share links. A completed deletion also turns off push notifications and signs the app out.
  • Deletion can complete automatically when nothing needs to be resolved first. Walker delegations, older business billing records, or pending verification or review items may need to be resolved first.
  • Safety, legal, billing, moderation, and records belonging to another owner may be retained.

1. Delete in the PupMarks app

  1. Sign in to the human account you want to delete.
  2. Open Account.
  3. Under Account controls, choose Delete account.
  4. Review the summary and anything the app says must be resolved first.
  5. Choose Review deletion request, then Confirm deletion request.

The request is sent to PupMarks; it does not only remove data from your device.

2. Request deletion without app access

Email support@pupmarks.com from the email address associated with the account. Use the subject “Delete my PupMarks account” and include the account username if known.

Do not send a password, verification code, sign-in token, private key, or full precise route. We may ask for limited additional information to verify that you control the account before processing the request.

3. What happens after confirmation

PupMarks records the deletion request, stops your active walks and live sharing, and revokes your share links.

If nothing needs to be resolved, we delete the account, turn off push notifications, and sign the app out. If something needs to be resolved first, the request is saved and the account stays signed in so you can take care of it. Examples include pending or accepted walker delegations, older active or past-due business billing records, pending business review, or pending walker verification.

Timing depends on the amount of data, whether something must be resolved first, identity verification for email requests, and applicable requirements. Contact support if the app says something must be resolved and you need help.

4. Data deleted when deletion completes

Deletion is designed to remove your account and the content you own, including:

  • Your sign-in account, profile, account records, and username.
  • Owned dog profiles and their attached PupMarks, posts, follows, reactions, timeline and pet-care records.
  • Dog rehoming invitations and history that identify the deleted account.
  • Your walks, private routes, live-sharing sessions, and walk receipts.
  • Your PupMark locations, photos and other media, walk previews, and profile photo.
  • Your share links, delegations you created, the follows you made, and your notification settings.

PupMarks data on your device is cleared when the app signs out after deletion. Uninstalling also removes app-local data controlled by the operating system.

5. Data that may remain

Some records may remain because they protect other users, document safety or moderation events, belong to another owner's history, or are needed for legal, billing, fraud, dispute, or audit purposes. Current retained categories can include:

  • Reports you filed and block records.
  • Business claims, promotions, older subscription or payment records, follows, saved offers, tags, and redemption records.
  • Walker reviews.
  • Walks, delegations, or receipts recorded by you for another owner.
  • A short-lived deletion confirmation record.
  • Aggregate or de-identified analytics that no longer identifies the deleted account.

These records are not retained to keep the deleted account usable. Access remains limited according to the record's purpose. See the Privacy Policy retention section for more information.

Deleting an item or account does not remove its separate private media recovery copy at that time. Recovery copies are scheduled to expire after fourteen days, although the storage provider's deletion processing may take longer. A recovery copy does not restore a deleted account or make deleted content active again.

6. Before you request deletion

  • Save any walk, dog, photo, care, or business information you need. PupMarks does not currently provide a self-service export.
  • Finish or cancel active walks and live sharing.
  • Resolve pending or accepted walker delegations.
  • Resolve any older business billing record or pending business or walker verification.
  • Understand that deleting an account is intended to be permanent and you cannot sign back in to a deleted account.

7. Questions or a blocked request

Email support@pupmarks.com with the account email or username and anything the app says must be resolved. We will use the information to verify the account and determine the next deletion step.
